Coronavirus Update

Following recent Government announcements, we regret to announce that Cornerstone will close to the public with immediate effect

The safety of our customers, participants, volunteers, performers, artists, and staff members is paramount to us as we navigate these unprecedented times.  This action is being taken purely as a precautionary measure and not as a result of any suspected or confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) reported at the venue.

We understand you may be disappointed if you have booked to see a show or have signed up to a workshop or class during this period. Where possible we are looking to post-pone and reschedule events. You will be entitled to a refund if an event has been cancelled or if you are unable to make the rescheduled date. We will be in touch with all bookers in due course. Please bear with us during this time as we have a large number of customers to contact.

We are closely following government advice and will keep you up-to-date as the situation changes and thank you for understanding and continued support at this challenging time.

Volunteer

You might not have realised that every usher you see when you come to the theatre at Cornerstone are volunteers. We simply would not be able to run the shows without them.

Cornerstone volunteers help out in a variety of ways and play a vital role in keeping a fantastic show on the road!  Our friendly team help to staff the cloakroom and usher performances on show nights, come in for tea and biscuits once a season to assist with the distribution of Cornerstone's season guide and help to distribute posters and flyers locally to promote our programme.

We are always keen to to hear from new people who are interested in becoming a volunteer and want to support their local arts centre.

Becoming a volunteer at Cornerstone is very rewarding. Not only do you get to watch top UK touring shows for FREE, you will get to meet new people, socialise and also be a part of the magic at Cornerstone Arts Centre.

Key responsibilities of an usher include:

  • Welcome and assist all visitors to Cornerstone in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
  • Play a key role in an evacuation or emergency situation to ensure customer safety
  • Ensure that our customers are in a safe and comfortable environment at all times

During the year, other opportunities for you to get involved can include:

  • Marketing support
  • Coffee catch ups

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please either pop in and talk to us (ask for the Duty Manager) or call 01235 515144 or click here to email Emma Malley.

We especailly need extra support this Christmas for our wonderful Christmas show The Adventures of Pinocchio

Any one welcome aged 16 - 100! We look forward to hearing from you.
