Volunteer

You might not have realised that every usher you see when you come to the theatre at Cornerstone are volunteers. We simply would not be able to run the shows without them.

Cornerstone volunteers help out in a variety of ways and play a vital role in keeping a fantastic show on the road!  Our friendly team help to staff the cloakroom and usher performances on show nights, come in for our VIP nights once a season to assist with the distribution of Cornerstone's season guide and help to distribute posters and flyers locally to promote our programme.

We are always keen to to hear from new people who are interested in becoming a volunteer and want to support their local arts centre.

Becoming a volunteer at Cornerstone is very rewarding. Not only do you get to watch top UK touring shows for FREE, you will get to meet new people, socialise and also be a part of the magic at Cornerstone Arts Centre.

Key responsibilities of an usher include:

  • Welcome and assist all visitors to Cornerstone in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
  • Play a key role in an evacuation or emergency situation to ensure customer safety
  • Ensure that our customers are in a safe and comfortable environment at all times

During the year, other opportunities for you to get involved can include:

  • Marketing support
  • VIP nights

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please either pop in and talk to us (ask for the Duty Manager) or call 01235 515144 or click here to email.

Any one welcome aged 16 - 100! We look forward to hearing from you.
