Cornerstone will keep creating!

Following government advice about Coronavirus, Cornerstone Arts Centre is currently closed to the public. Visit our blog post for more information on this closure: here.

Cornerstone Arts Centre is still Didcot's community hub even in this unprecedented time where we can't be physically open. We will continue to illuminate theatre, visual arts, community spirit and everything else under our umbrella in the best way we possibly can online.

For a while, our website is going to look a little different. We are creating pages with details of our new digital initiatives including virtual galleries, streaming theatre and bringing classes into your living rooms so you can enjoy us even during this period. We will continue to be a community resource and we look forward to seeing you again in person when this is all over.

Come and meet local treasure Ron

Posted on 9 Sep 2014

Local treasure Ron Freeborn will be in residence at Cornerstone every Wednesday morning during his exhibition 'People and Places'. Ron, from Blewbury, has inspired countless local people through his teaching at Didcot Girls School and local workshops. He is an eminent artist and constantly displays his experience and knowledge of historic art practice in his work.

During his time with us, he will using pen and ink to sketch scenes from Cornerstone which he may progress into a final piece. He'll also be talking about the work in his exhibition and is happy to pass on some of the tips and techniques he's learnt over the years.

This is an exciting opportunity to have an informal chat with a top local artist so come along and meet Ron anytime between 10am and 1pm every Wednesday.

Don't forget, Ron will also be giving a talk and demonstration in our auditorium on Thursday 17 September, as part of this he wil be painting live on stage!
