Cornerstone will keep creating!

Following government advice about Coronavirus, Cornerstone Arts Centre is currently closed to the public. Visit our blog post for more information on this closure: here.

Cornerstone Arts Centre is still Didcot's community hub even in this unprecedented time where we can't be physically open. We will continue to illuminate theatre, visual arts, community spirit and everything else under our umbrella in the best way we possibly can online.

For a while, our website is going to look a little different. We are creating pages with details of our new digital initiatives including virtual galleries, streaming theatre and bringing classes into your living rooms so you can enjoy us even during this period. We will continue to be a community resource and we look forward to seeing you again in person when this is all over.

Is there someplace you miss? Somewhere you were supposed to be?

Across the world, our lives have been put on hold. For international theatre company Single Shoe Productions, that’s meant everything from touring schedules to even a family wedding. So we are embarking on homemade travels.

We invite you on a journey of the imagination as we recreate the places we miss using household objects and we want you to join us in our travels by making your own creations.

Do you yearn for the wind across your face on a carefree drive? Or settling in on a beach awash with shells? Perhaps the comfort of your favourite coffee shop is calling...

Bring yourself closer to the places that give you joy and #TakeUsThere.

Each week until the end of August, Single Shoe Productions will release a video sharing their newest piece, provide a behind-the-scenes peek into how it was made and highlight your “travels” for all to enjoy.

To join the journey, use your mobile phone to snap a photo or record a video (3 min. max) of your creation. Send it via to with the subject line: Take Us There.

In the message please include:

  • The name you would like to use as the creator of your piece
  • The title of your piece
  • Where you’re from
  • The household objects you have used to create your piece

Prepare to leave your home in a whole new way. Get inspired. Take part. #TakeUsThere.

NB. By emailing us your creation you are giving permission for us to use the work in our online channels and for us to email you about Take Us There events. For full Terms and Conditions go to
