Sorry, we're closed

Despite our best efforts over the last few weeks to avoid any disruptions to services we’ve had to take the difficult decision to temporarily close Cornerstone Arts Centre and the Nourish café as we need to carry out urgent maintenance work that affects the heating of the building.

January and February are traditionally quiet times for the centre, and we’re hoping to find alternative venues or dates for the events coming up, to keep disruption to a minimum.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience and any disappointment following this news, but given the cold weather we’re having, it’s very important to us to make sure we’re looking after the health and well-being of our visitors and staff.

Saturday 28th August at Didcot Town Square

11am - 4pm

  • Didcot Folk Day - a mini-festival of live folk and roots music
  • The Shackleton Trio at 2pm - The Shackleton Trio are Georgia Shackleton (fiddle, vocals), Aaren Bennett (guitar) and Nic Zuppardi (mandolin, banjo). Natural talents of the folk tradition, their self-penned material blends seamlessly with their imaginative yet authentic re-workings of traditional folk standards, influenced by British, American and Scandinavian folk traditions, with a regional twist from the group's native East Anglia. With a highly original and energetic musical style, the trio has been a tour de force on the UK and international folk scene over the last six years.

Sunday 29th August at Didcot Town Square

11am - 4pm

  • The Travellers - telling tales of old from Didcot's past in their own quirky way - performances throughout the day!
  • WhatNot Theatre at 12 & 2pm - performances of their Alice in Wonderland inspired show 'Tea Time With Hatter & Hare'
  • Shadow puppetry from Penumbra Theatre Company called 'Tales from the Cold'

Didcot Garden Party is a summer long installation in Didcot Town Square, injecting colour, life and fun into the heart of our town centre.  The Garden Party will feature a range of shows, workshops, showcases, events and installations across every weekend from July 24th to September 4th.  Most activity will take place between 11am - 4pm each Saturday and Sunday, but the Garden Party site itself will be open throughout the week.

The town square itself will be transformed for the Garden Party into a mini-festival site, providing a welcoming and relaxed environment.  So if you want to try your hand out at circus skills, watch a folk gig, marvel at some street theatre, give Parkour a go, take part in an arts workshop or just fancy wiling away the summer afternoons in giant bean bags with a drink of something chilled, we've got you covered.
